What is your life???

Jas 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

Luk 12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
Luk 12:20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

Hasten, Sinner, to Be Wise!
We pray you in Christ's stead,
be ye reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:20

Hasten, sinner, to be wise!
Stay not for the morrow’s sun:
Wisdom if you still despise,
Harder is it to be won.

Hasten, mercy, to implore!
Stay not for the morrow’s sun,
Lest thy season should be o’er,
Ere this evening’s stage be run.

Hasten, sinner, to return!
Stay not for the morrow’s sun,
Lest thy lamp should fail to burn
Ere salvation’s work is done.

Hasten, sinner, to be blest!
Stay not for the morrow’s sun,
Lest perdition thee arrest,
Ere the morrow is begun.

~Thomas Scott

Too Late
Wide doth the door of God’s mercy
Beckon – oh enter within
High was the price paid on Calv’ry
To conquer and cover all sin

God – Mighty King – Heaven’s Glory
Life-giving, Hope - Filling Lord
Mercy and truth met each other
Man – fallen man – He restored.

Still at thy heart, man, He standeth
Knocking – Oh bid Him come in
Year upon year He is waiting
To free you from guilt and from sin!

‘Tis God, mighty God – you’ve rejected
His voice–precious voice–you have stilled
And slowly with pride, degradation
Your hard stony heart has been filled!

One day when time shall be ended
And God’s knock be heard never more
You will be knocking and calling
TOO LATE – soul, at Heavens closed door.

~Jennifer Daniel

Sinner, come to Jesus and be made whole!

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling for you and for me;
See, on the portals He’s waiting and watching,
Watching for you and for me.

Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading,
Pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not His mercies,
Mercies for you and for me?

Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing,
Passing from you and from me;
Shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming,
Coming for you and for me.

Oh, for the wonderful love He has promised,
Promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon,
Pardon for you and for me.

Come home, come home,
You who are weary, come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!

  2. Very good post...

That is such a sobering poem from Jennifer Daniel. Oh how great will be the cry 'Too Late!' in eternity from those who neglected to respond to the tender pleadings of Jesus to come and be saved.
