Are you who you say you are?

We have all been told and have seen time and time again that we are being watched, admired, and imitated by many people around us. Especially those who are younger than us. I have been thinking today about this fact in my life. I am responsible for my actions. I will give account for my actions. But if I cause another to stumble because of something that I have rationalized away and convinced myself of its being harmless in my life... what am I actually doing? Others are watching me. They must give account of what they do before God! I must give account of what I do before God! If I cause one that is weak to stumble, it would be better that a millstone were hanged about my neck and I were cast into the sea!!!

If I only knew the results that one compromise in my life does in the lives of others, even if I knew what one compromise in my life caused or allowed in the life of just one other soul who is looking to me for and watching my life as an example, would I be honored or would I be devastated? I am afraid I would be more devastated than honored! It does not have to be this way...

Search me, O God and know my heart today. Try me, O Saviour. Know my thoughts, I pray! See if there be some wicked way in me... I know there is some wicked way in me, teach me how to get rid of it fully, without any strings attached. Fully surrendering it to You, Lord and turning from it with all my heart. Cleanse me from every sin and make me free! "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."

I am writing this post for two reasons: One - for myself. So I can try to think this out and be 100% honest! And two - for those who might be able to use this post in any way in their own lives.

2Co 3:2 "Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:"

Don't say that you love Him and live like you don't.
You think they'll believe you. I tell you they won't!
Don't think that this world is made up of fools.
They're watching your life. Do you live by the rules?

So be an example in all that you do.
Show them that Jesus is living in you.
Speak of His power and love every day.
Live like you mean it, and show them the way!

So just live what you say! Show them that Jesus is truly the way!
Just live what you say! Someone is watching your life today!

(A special thank you to the one who has prompted me to think about this subject and thus to do this post. Have I answered all areas that ought to be answered? Assuredly not... but I am still thinking along these lines and would welcome any thoughts and input!)
